hello,
I've got a 04 F80X fork,
Can I change the travel to 100mm by remove the 20mm spacer?
Thanks brother😄

AFAIK, no. The F100X can be reduced to 80mm, not the other way around
that's mean the F80X can't increase travel
but F100X can decrease travel?😕
🙁
F80X is lighter because it doesnt have the extra 20mm travel built into it, on the F100X you can put spacers in to reduce it down to 80mm but it wont be as light
the 80x is fixed at 80 and is designed to not go longer than that. the 100 can always be reduced to 80 and will end up being stiffer than the 80x due to overlap. but you will pay the penelty in weight for the 100 vs the nice light 80x.
The 100's do have more versitility... by being able to go down to 80mm travel . Sure, there might be a 3-5oz weight difference between the forks. Alot of people get caught up in the weight frenzy ........ and over look the possible features** a fork can contribute to you riding style , or possibly if you go to sell the fork ....... will people be worried about weight or adjustability. If you want to reduce weight , you can always go to the bathroom before a ride... or lighten up another component part on your bike when it comes time to replace(broken) or upgrade.
