It seems this time every year I get what feels like particulate in the eye while I'm out riding; however, when I checked in with my doctor, he could not find anything in the eye with the dye test.
I'm wondering if you think it's due to allergens or possibly just the cold wind? Nothing seems to work, anti-histimines, eye flush with optrex or saline, nor visine.
Very concerned I might have to go to a friggin' pair of goggles...dork alert! it really only seems to happen to me this time of year, and disappears as it warms up.

I assume you wear glasses of some kind to help protect your eyes? Maybe try a pair that offers more coverage to keep the wind from blowing into your eyes at all. Cold air blowing into your eyes could be the culprit. Its worth a try...

I do. I have a pair of Ryders sunglasses. They protect fairly well, but obviously not enough.
I've been surfing around the net, and the best option seems to be a pair of Birdz goggles.
Anyone have any experience with these, or can offer suggestions as to more protective sunglasses?
Although I'm not familiar with Ryders at all, it might be worth it to try something similar to the Oakley M Frames. If the cost keeps you from trying them, find a similarly shaped pair at the local gas station, grocery store, or Target and try those. If they do the job, then you can invest in the Oakleys. Also the Rudy Project Equinox offer great coverage/wind protection too. I have used both of these sunglasses, and personally think that they both do exactly what they should. I prefer the Oakleys in the end, due to the lack of a frame on the bottom/sides of the lenses--it really opens up my field of vision. I'd stay away from goggles simply for the fact that they can fog up too easily, don't breathe much (if at all), and could act as sweat traps. Good luck!

I don't know what part of the country you are in, but here in the southeast the pollen is very high and I noticed last night I felt gritty all over after my ride. I found that most of those eye drops you mentioned don't seem to help at least in my case, but Naphcon C does.
I have the same problem, the wind and the sweat getting into my eyes. I am also looking for a solution, recently saw an ad for www.wileyx.com.
They say the sunglasses have a removable gasket so you have the good looking glasses that also function as goggles when needed. They cost $135 on that website. Does anyone else have experience with the wileyx, or any similar product?
i tend to not ride as much during this season because in the southeast the pollens and such are extremly painful. haha everytime i go outside for more then and hour and half my eyes feel as though small rocks are in it and ich a lot.
