My unerring talent for picking the wrong time to go out on
the bike at lunchtime was exercised on Wednesday. I had a
parcel to buy stamps for, and opted for the post office 3
miles from the office, to get a bit of a ride. When I went
in the weather was blue sky, by the time I'd got the stamps
it was total deluge. I hung around for a bit until the
weather let up, only to return to deluge proportions by the
time I got to the first junction. At this point I found out
that the upper back of my waterproof no longer has any
waterproofing. The waterproof is ancient, doesn't have as
many reflective stripes as I'd like, the zip is gone on the
pocket and the velcro on the flap is coming unstitched, so
it's time for a new one.
What I want: a waterproof in bright fluorescent colour, lots
of reflective stripes on the back, front and arms or wrists,
a hood, a storm flap and at least one zipped pocket. The
difficult bit is that I'm a really fatbirdonabike, so it has
to be ladies size 24 or men's extra extra large. Anyone know
of such a thing? The old one was a Peter Storm, but didn't
have any reflective material on the sleeves, so I don't want
the same again.
