ROTF! We have so many surveys where I work, I should just slip in this
question amongst the others. :-)

IIRC, this was sent to me by one of my ex-colleagues where I used to
work... It was around the time when they had just upgraded the canteen
- and the staff (over 3000 of them) were asked to "just take 5 minutes"
to fill in a 20 page "survey" just to give mangement a pat on the back
for doing so much to keep the staff happy 🙂

No, that's normal. Not something I miss from the "corporate world", either.
Just take this survey, your answers are confidential and will be tabulated
and we'll tell you the results at the next corporate meeting. Of course the
results were always favourable - rah rah and all that [censored] 😉

The last survey I remember, they wanted to know if it was a great place to
work. The questions were biased toward the company and they asked things
like if you felt you could take your concerns to your supervisor and whether
or not you trusted your supervisor. Who in their right mind would say they
didn't trust their supervisor even if they didn't? I, for one, didn't
believe in any way shape or form this was confidential. I went to HR once
to make a complaint, was told it was confidential, and was shortly
thereafter called into my managers office to ask why I'd gone to HR rather
than coming to her. Apparently the first thing HR did was call the manager
to tell her I'd lodged a complaint about my supervisor. I don't trust
anyone in "corporate America" with good reason.

I don't blame you.... our surveys were supposed to be anonymous, but
some people typed them because they thought their handwriting would be
recognized.
