I did not mean his knowledge is somehow flawed; actually he
gives the best commentary I can receive. The problem is that
he considers his experience and that of people like De
Cauwerto be infallible and complete; he has a tendency to
explain every move and over-analyze all that happens. But
with people like Virenque in the peloton, one has to keep in
mind that not everything riders do during a race is part of
some masterplan.
It's a shame I will have to miss him this season, due to the
introduction of 'sporza'. I can't imagine that the sponsors
are happy with it either. The Tour de Suisse used to be
broadcast to every home that had access to VRT1 and Canvas -
most of the Netherlands, I think. But now Ullrich wins, and
I don't think that a fraction of the Dutch can see it, while
T-mobile has a definite commercial interest here, just to
mention a sponsor.
