I remember a small survey of L'Equipe on the eve of the final TT in the Tour
of '89.All the experts (about 20 or 25) predicted Laurent Fignon would win
the Tour, with one exception: Jan Raas who voted for Lemond. Since then I
don't believe experts anymore (expect Jan Raas of course).

But he won't make the podium either, not this year. May have the strength for a
top-5 and will be given more freedom than the big guns, but still lacks

As if there was actually anything on the line...

I believe in any case that Iban Mayo will win. He's a thrilling rider
who doesn't hold back all season for the sake of Le Grand Boucle - he
just goes for it whenever he feels like it.

I also look forward to being pleasantly, or even unpleasantly, surprised.
