I have lost approximately 70 lbs this year, currently about 185 lbs. I
was well out of shape before, no exercise whatsoever, sedentary job
etc. I haven't, before now, embarked on any kind of exercise program,
but have concentrated on lower level stuff - longer walks, swimming,
playing more actively with the kids.
I need to lose further - for reasons i won't trouble you with, i may
need to go a little underweight before i bring my weight up a little. I
feel fitter, and more energetic, and have joined a gym. I have no
scientific knowledge or background whatsoever, and most of the stuff i
find on the net confuses me. It talks about the difference between
burning carbs and fat. well, i'm a bit short for carbs to burn, as i
keep them very low indeed.
so, my question is, can anyone recommend a simple exercise plan to go
along with my low carb diet. essentially, i eat nothing but meat, fish,
eggs, hard cheese, and green leaves, and drink stacks of water, and
very weak tea made with a little soya milk. When I "cheat" it is to
drink: i limit beer so far as i can, and try to stick to white wine.
family tradition mandates more of this kind of "cheating" than i would
like.
I am 43, male, nothing wrong with me apart from being out of shape.
Could anyone suggest a simple exercise programme for me to use, or
provide a pointer as to where i may start to look? nothing too
scientific, please, for this bear of very little brain. My lifestyle
means that I can't be totally regular about the gym. Essentially, i'm
aiming to go three times a week, spread out as much as poss. I don't
want to get into filling in charts and records, etc, just be able to
turn up at the gym, and know what to do, and that what i am doing is
reasonably effective at getting some more fat off. For the moment, that
is my sole aim.
I would be grateful, if anyone could offer any help.
