I sliced some steak off of a bottom round roast to make chicken fried steak. Then I did something I've never done before! I took the absorbent pad from beneath the meat, and I wrung it out onto the steak. Then I salted, peppered, floured as usual.
I would not be a good candidate for vegetarianism.

I add that to the gravy.
See, I always just threw it away *hits forehead with palm*. How could it not have occurred to me before today?

You paid for it, why not use it? When I get a steak at a restaurant, I sop up the juice with the bread. Once in a while, I'll try to sop it up with the baked potato.

Well, of course. Lots of folks do that. Heck, when there's no one else around, I often lick my plate. Wringing out the "absorbent pad" is on a whole nother level.
