Obligatory happy, cheery, diversional therapy thread. I spied this glorious piece of tat via the local "Warehouse" shoppe.
It's wonderfuly crappy, comes in four fetching colour schemes, is a guaranteed head turner, witty conversation item, and an prime example of form over actual function.
- Radial spoking! - Tells the time 24/7! - 18" alloy rim! - Has matching two-tone tread with bonus inner tube. Value! - "Quartz" hub! - Clock hands are a little shifter & screwdriver - with bonus glow-in-the-dark stuff. More value! - Did we mention spokey-dokes! Well it's got spoke-dokes for the numerals 12, 3, 6 and 9! - Attractive metal plate thingie masquerading as a disc rotor. I think. - It cost me 30 quid because I get easier distracted by shiny bike stuff!

The (mostly) black hands are seriously form over function. May get painted. Or maybe I'll lost interest ... oooo, look something else bright and shiny ...! 😉

I have one of those. You can even tell when it's midnight if you hold the torch at the right angle. I also have a plethora of clocks I've collected and made out of bits of wood and turnings. I even have an old electric mains clock in the shed. It tells me how long the power was off when we have a power failure. :-)

no matter what, it will certainly, will be a conversation piece, attracting guest's attention when they come to visit, and when they leave 😄
Personally, I am jealous, although I think I would prefer a fine racing wheel version 😉

Surely part of the deal is that you have to kill the chainrings yourself first.
Because I'm a hoarder I have a bag full of chainrings and cogs and am planning my next one. Something with a pendulum that can be replaced with a drillium cog like my keyring. http://www.flickr.com/photos/46435249@N00/229595880/

I have yet to kill any chainrings, although coming close with my mtb (boring tho). Part of the fun is the actual hunt....
I've still got one of those oval chainrings Shimano tried to sell everybody on in the '80s. Gold and black I think. Might make a nice wall-hanging Or maybe that rear disk I wore out on the motorcycle. Has a nice hole pattern. Hmmm...

well they sold one to you :p Congratulations hehe I bought a second hand bike with one of those eliptical chainrings (silver not black and gold). I couldn't tell the difference! heh.

It was on a bike I inherited from my youngest son, when he left home. Didn't stay on there long. I found it ..... strange.
