Ever hit a squirrel?

I had a rabbit dart between my wheels on a climb. He got whacked with one pedal but scampered off and seemed no worse for the wear. I hit a bird once in a motorcycle race while going over 100mph. It hit my knee. Despite the knee protection in the leathers and the knee puck, it hurt like hell. It did leave a bruise, but the bird fared much worse judging by the explosion of feathers and the juice left on my leathers (extra points awarded for the incidental rhyme). I also ran over a tarantula on a commute home. He went squish.

I was riding this weekend and had a poodle try to cut across my path when I was hitting about 19 mph. Got beat up pretty bad with the spokes; but both bike and dog were fine. I managed to stag on the bike as well.

Ran over a rabbit once, tried to avoid him but he went right under the tires. The way he flopped away I'm sure that his legs were damaged. We tried to find him but couldn't. It's quite sad because I think he would have been easy prey for another animal.

squirrels, skunks, owls..........Critters sometimes just get in the way............Skunk and owl were in the dark.
