Wow. Busted an ACL. His knee joint should be very unstable. It supports it in all directions AFAIK. But he says the pedal motion is okay.

He wasn't too happy about working all day for Mick Rogers and then Mick's legs cramping up in the final sprint. Though he did put it down to bad luck at the end of the interview/story.

I'd say a normal disapointment for being so close yet so far.

I have a ruptured (completely knacked) ACL and cycling is about the only sport it can handle at 100+% . Did it over 20 years ago and not repaired it yet.
If he ever has to take 9 months off he should get it fixed otherwise it won't effect his cycling. At least not until his mangled ACL gets worn in and rubbing smoothly. He may need some arthroscopic surgery to tidy it up in there and remove damaged cartlage etc. Must still be painful to walk on.
