  1. On DPF some posters have indicated that Evans is not liked by his teammates and does not have their respect. What's up with that? Is he a loner who is disconnected from his team?

  2. Maybe he really does have a temper?

    Is he moving to Garmin?

I don't think he is well liked... just a speculation based on various hearsay. Popo is obviously not a big fan. Horner seemed to not mind working for him however. He was a big loss in hindsight.

He has some characteristics that probably don't help him to build a loyal support team or make relationships. A propensity to whinge/blame/lash out when things don't go his way may be one of them. But I'm only guessing.

From what we've seen from him in public, does that surprise anyone?

If the salary quoted in the article WBT posted is right, I don't know if Garmin can afford him. Maybe with Vande Velde's performance in the TdF, they won't think they need Evans.

  7. I've read speculation too but nothing outright from the riders (yet?).

Did he really have a different bus than the rest of the team?

I don't think so - just that sometimes he took a team van rather than the bus...

  9. Mmmm maybe Evans will join McEwen at Tinkoff:

Some interesting comments from the article:

    Quoted post said:

While Evans appeared relatively relaxed afterwards, nervous tension may have played a part.

He had been showing signs of it in his dealings with the huge media presence and on the day he changed his routine by doing his warm-up in the bus.

Sastre, on the other hand, was cool. He is a popular character, just one of the boys at CSC, even though he was their captain.

In contrast, Evans had his own bodyguard, the cars were painted with "yell for Cadel" slogans and he was very much the star of the show, treated like a rock star at his early media conferences.

tx, I read that somewhere but it did seem a bit overboard.

After the time trial the paint was changed to "Yell at Cadel."

    Highly doubtful.
Odds are it's some sharp thinking forum rumor monger starting it.
One the coverage they did refer to Evans arriving for the TT later in a team car rather than the bus with the others.

    Makes perfect sense to me.
What GC position where all his team mates,

The closest was Popovych 35mins down on Evans. Aerts was 43mins down.
From there the next rider was over 2hrs down & one was battling for the Lantern Rouge.
So in Evans position would you really want to be there hours before you need to, just to get hassled by the press etc.
    Logic would say No.
