European Custon Frame

I came across an italian brand that does custom and stock, I can't remember the name. Torelli might. There are a bunch of italian places to check into... a couple french, probably a few english places, too. Check online for custom bike builders, if you haven't already. most US custom frame builders want to see you in person, I don't know if it's the same elsewhere.
But, keep in mind that it usually takes at least a monthfor your frame to be built. so ordering it online through a company, and picking it up in person might be an option. Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to go to factory or store and get sized up. Then have them ship it out when it was complete. I have been emailing some Italian manufactures with not much luck. Anyone else have any info??

DeRosa would be happy to do one for you, as would Pagliaghi (sp). And yes, I am pretty sure Bianchi will do a custom build. Peroretti is a pretty sweet build and reportedly they do alot of the bikes in the peloton, which are then painted and logoed in the team/bike name.

Good to hear that you are coming over the pond. I believe (but cannot confirm) that Italian builder will be happy to custom build a frame for you, if you have the time and cash.

I guess it also comes down to when you will be coming to Italy and where exactly you plan to go - most of the builders are up North (I'm from Rome), so if you are coming to Rome (or Florence) or further South you would have to factor in a plane/train/car trip somewhere.

Two I have heard a great deal of good about on Italian newsgroups as making custom frames, listening to what YOU want, and charging comparatively little (compared to the Pinarellos and Colnagos of this world) are:

Vetta www.vetta.it (only custom frames)
Billato www.billato.it (rumour has it they make frames for a lot of other firms, seen a couple on rides and they look very nice)

REMEMBER - Italy shuts down in mid-late July through early September. If you plan on getting anything done in that period, forget it. Most factories simply shut down!

In any event, remember to contact the factory beforehand and set things up. If you need help with translation let me know via a private message.

She is a solid supporter of my cycling, and has actually bought a lot of the fancy stuff that I have ridden. That being said, there is this little matter of paying for the second story that is currently being erected on my house.

I would love the new Status Carbon though. Maybe the kids really don't need a bathroom.😄

A buddy of mine has a Fondriest they sure make beautiful frames. Unfortunately I will be arriving on the 14th of July. My plans are not looking good. This is actually a late Honeymoon for me. My wife was nice enough to let me enjoy some of the Tour and enjoy the European culture. I thought a custom Italian frame would top all it off nicely. Any other options? thanks for all the great info. Mike

Denti makes frames to order, and requires your measurements to do so. These frames are reasonably priced, feature modern materials, and I've heard good things about them. Here is a U.S. retailer that handles their frames:
