If it was $250, I'd be confident that it would be a pretty decent city
scoot after some tuning, but I'm curious what $150 gets you.

Might be worth a gamble for somebody--beats a $79 dollar MTB I'm
willing to guess.

Other than hitting random digits on the keyboard, I have no theory about the

The "shipping info" claims that the bike's shipping weight is
about 60 lbs. I sure hope that's wrong, but I *really* hope it
shouldn't be 60 kg!

I'd like a better look at the handlebar and brakes.

A 3-speed version would probably be more practical (assuming
this is a single-speed.)

I think there's some good in utility bikes finally making
an appearance at the bottom end of the price scale.

Says wheel size is 26", there is a generator light, not sure about
suspension.

It's not enough bigger to really tell. If I had to guess I'd say they
were cantilever brakes of some sort, since there is a blob below the rim
at the back brake.

They call it 21 speed; presumably a low-end 7-speed cassette and a triple
hidden behind that chainguard.

I'll bet that the original spec was 125 Kg (which would be 275
lbs, much more realistic).

Large pic shows sus fork and linear pull brakes. No surprise there.

I *probably* is a Euro-commuter that Target picked out of a
manufacturers catalog.

You often see bikes on sale in Sweden at least, at the price busting
cost of $200 or so. That gets you a bike with a 3spd hub, coaster
brake, rack, lights, and fenders. Usually they're good enough for a few
years of city riding and nice as they're not precious. Stuff like
handlebars and seat post are usually cheap steel, which I'll take over
cheap aluminum.

The only thing in the pic that throws me is the bars, they look like
American cruiser style bars--like a buyer at Target called the factory
in China and was like "give me that model Q, but put the cruiser bars
from model S on it".

Shipping makes it a pretty [censored] poor deal anyway. For $50 more or so,
you can get an entry level Kona or Marin hybrid.

If that is true, it could be a real deal. Yes, cheap components, but a
bike that would actually be useful for most entry level riders (smooth
tires, easy leg swing-over, rack for carrying things, light and
fenders).

Since when has Britain ever considered herself part of Europe. Britain is a
lot like Japan, an offshore island which is not part of the continent. Most
Europeans consider the English to be a very strange people, just like most
East Asians consider the Japanese to be a very strange people. It is was
what comes of their not being part of the mainland.

Helen should get her head screwed on straight and consider herself more
closely aligned with the US than with Europe, this for reasons of language
and culture, not geography of course.
