I just saw it. It seemed pretty reasonable in what was said but missed
    two key points.

    1. Lots of Lance's competition should be under equal clouds of
    suspicion

    2. Lots of other major sports probably have equally bad doping
problems but they have less testing, so less is known.

The host kept calling pro cycling a sport with a well known doping
problem. Can you imagine some commentator saying before Monday Night
Football "This week, the Jets version the Dolfins in a sport with a
    well known doping problem."

Hmm, interesting piece. I don't believe emma knows anything. I believe
that journalist has no proof. Greg Lemond probably never liked LA, and who
cares if he was threatened for talking slander. Once again no proof.

His former teammate at motorola is the most damning, and its possible LA was
planning to dope or did start doping then, but can't admit that now. Its
also possible he's doping post-cancer, but that goes against the profile of
someone who has recovered from something like that. While anyone is glad
that drugs help them recover from illness, sensible people learn the side
effects of drugs and choose to get off of them asap. Then also they
consider it important to keep toxic things out of their body.

My take on it is yes, he may have doped at some point in his career, and is
trying to hide that. But other riders who once doped like virenque are
riding again. If he admitted anything now all his tours would be out the
window even if he stopped doping post-cancer. With Millar supposedly
admitting using EPO, and the fact that he never tested positive, this is the
main reason to still suspect LA at this point. But for what periods did
Millar admit it? Up to and including this year?

EPO boosts production of red blood cells. It should be possible to
statistically determine the difference between riders using EPO and not
    using EPO during a race.

  4. Didn't pay much attention to the former teammate's accusations, what
were they and who was the teammate?

A motorola guy - Stephen Swart. Apparently its in the book. He said LA was
pressuring the whole team to dope as a way to compete better. But he didn't
actually say that he ever saw LA doping, or that he doped with LA or with
the team. I think its highly possible LA considered doping if not actually
doing it pre-cancer. Post cancer I would like to believe you learn how to
treat your body better. Others may say that seeing how powerful drugs could
help you heal might make someone choose to rely on drugs more. I personally
think he's a gifted athelete who has not doped post-cancer. The fact that
others like millar seem to have doesn't mean anything.

Where can I find this profile? How many smokers who get cancer continue to

  13. I read countless articles on Google groups on doping issues. "Does
Lance use Drugs," "Mayo has to be on something to beat Lance by 1:30"
.. The bottom line is this; Just like the kids in school who smoke
weed, the people that cut on their taxes, and George bush who has
screwed Millions of people. Yes athletes take performance enhancing
drugs. Not all of them, just the few who are greedy for success,
money, and power to kick everyone else's ass. Like cheating in a
simple game of poker they feel guilt just like everyone else. The
only difference is when you take performance enhancing drugs there is
no telling home years it takes off you life. If they want to take
drug and cheat, Fine. If they want to take years off their life, its
ok. It is their decision and if they get caught they have to deal
    with the consequences.

Why does the amateur cyclist/fans have such a fascination with Doping
in their favorite professional athletes? The same reason you want to
hear the sad ending to a happy sorry. There is still some excitement
to being let down. Unless any professional athletes test positive or
get caught with drugs it is not right to accuse them of taking them.
How would you like to be accused of murder and be innocents? For an
innocent professional athlete to be accused of drugs is like killing
their heart. I feel for sorry for the first person that won or will
win the Tour de France clean. There will always be that person that
says they cheated. Only they will know if the are right or wrong.

You can not compare the pure satisfaction of winning a race clean or
Dirty. One person always sleeps better at night. Get off the subject.
Lance Say's he is clean. So he is clean.
