In an old Bicycle Guide (?) photo and accompanying legend from 15+ years
ago, Cinelli presented Clapton with a custom Supercorsa after hearing that
he lusted after one.

Ginger Baker had been a bike racer as a teenager, with hopes of becoming a pro. Drumming was a
secondary interest. An encounter with a taxi while riding was at least partly responsible for
changing his priorities.

I recall seeing a picture in one of the 80's bicycle mags where Clapton was accepting a custom made
bike from one of the big name Italian builders. I think it was Colnago.
