  1. Can anything be done to bring the Campy Record Ergo Brake Levers in closer? My hands are not exactly small but when I'm on the drops, I can only just reach the levers with the tips of my longest two fingers. This does not provide confidence when braking.

Even when riding on the hoods the brakes don't inspire confidence due to the lever's ergodynamics. In addition the webbing on my hands gets very sore on prolonged descents.

  2. I'd suggest repositioning your levers on your bars or perhaps looking at some different shaped bars altogether. A lot of the 'ergo' of 'anatomic' bars may be more comfortable for you.

You could opt for some finger transplants instead - expensive though.

  3. As much as I hate to say it, switch to ShimaNO. You can cut back the reach from the drops by switching to a more traditional bar shape or putting some wedges between the bars and lever bodies, but if you can't brake from the hoods the Campy shape might just be wrong for your hands.

If Shimano shifters could shift record derailers I would consider it.

  5. do a yahoo search for the jtec shiftmate, for the rear, and the front will work fine.

There are some handlebars that are designed for women and are narrower and also bring the levers closer to the bars so that small hands can use them ( I think terry´s is one of the the makes ) so this might be a route to explore .
