  1. Hello,

I'm new to this group and have a question about ephedrine. I'm thinking
of ordering two bottles of 8 mg. tabs from a supplier in Canada to be
shipped to me in the U.S. Does the U.S. government prosecute
individuals who order from Canada, especially in such small amounts?

    Paulino, do you know <<Joni>>?

    Never mind. Inside joke.

You could certainly do what you describe, and I absolutely promise no one
from the Government will bother you.

I have an alternate plan for you to consider. Walk out your front door, trot
on over to the supermarket, go to the "cough and cold" aisle, and pick up a
box labeled, "Bronkaid Tablets" 25mg ephedrine each. Walk to the checkout
counter, give the nice lady a few dollars, and go home.

    David

  3. But......I just can't stand the Guafeisein(sp.) It spaces me out big
time. Is there pure ephedrine available in the states?

"Spacing out", or anything like it, is not a listed adverse effect of that
[censored] nobody can spell, so, you need to consider the possibility that 1) the
ephedrine spaces you out, which it could, or, 2) a placebo effect.

Don't know. Don't think so. Try an experiment. Get some Bronkaid and the
pure ephedrine from Canada, where everything is pure and innocent. Have
someone give you them to take, one at a time, without you knowing which it
is. Have them keep track of which it was, and any side effects you get.
After a while, compare. Your very own single blind experiment.

I thought maybe he was troll, but then I remembered that the boys in

But dude, I used to feel like *totally* spaced out when I had sinus
infections and I took the PPA/guaifenesin that the doc prescribed for me.
And I'm totally sure the spaciness had nothing whatsoever to do with the 5
lbs of mucus in my head, the PPA, or the fact that I'm generally pretty
spacy (dumn gurl n all, y'know). HAD to be the guaifenesin, right?

Obviously you have never had anything shipped from US to Canada or
Canada to the US before. All packages are examined by Customs on either
side. If you are ordering from a regular supplement company in Canada
(for example Popeye's Canada which sells ephedrine 8mg as a 'nasal
decongestant'and caffeine tabs on the same page)they have to have a
customs declaration sticker on the package saying what the exact
contents are. As another Canadian distributer 'Heavyweights Inc' says:
We are NOT held responsible for ANY orders confiscated by customs." So
lalala you pay for the product and customs keeps it.

Do a search for ephedra, ma huang as used in teas - you can still buy
the whole leaf/stems online and this gives you more info all about the
botany verses the pharmacuetical product: http://tinyurl.com/3u6yf

And why would a legal OTC drug be confiscated?

But why do that when ephedrine is legally and easily available?

"Ma huang usually contains a total of 0.5 to 2.5 percent of several
alkaloids generally referred to as ephedra alkaloids (Lawrence Review,
1989). The dominant alkaloid is epbedrine, which usually comprises between
30 to 90 percent of total ephedra alkaloids, depending on the species
    (Lawrence Review, 1989).

Ratios of ephedrine to other alkaloids (e.g. pseudoephedrine, also called
isoephedrine) vary according to species of Ephedra, time of year of
harvest, weather conditions, and altitude where the plant grows."

Your very own reference is saying that when you get epehdra, you don't
know what's in it or how much. Why would this be in any way preferable to
    pharmaceutical ephedrine?

At least her track record is intact. I particularly liked this part: "All
packages are examined by Customs on either side." I do admire those who
serve humanity by providing humor. A valuable service. Keep up the good

Is "lalala" code for "now I'm making an illogical conclusion?"

Have *you* ever ordered 8 mg tablets from Canada? I've done it a couple
two-three times. (That's a New England way of saying a few. I threw it
in to be quaint and 'cuz I'm sick of exactly quantifying things.)

Anway, I digress (must be the guafenisin). I have never had any
problems with the Omnipotent Customs with Extra Time On Their Hands
seizing my orders. I've ordered from Pumpeii and another place I don't
    remember the name of.

I actually like the 8 mg tablets since I prefer to ramp up and down and
typically only do 16 mg dosage with 150 mg of caffeine. I don't like
the speedy-wired feeling of a stronger dose. (Or maybe it's the
    guafenisin doing that.)

Check your state laws. It wasn't illegal with the Feds initially.
FDA banned the sale and manufacture of supplements with ephedra
    (not possession and use).
