what do you guys think? thumbs up or quackery?
how could it be different from regular soy and canola oil and is it more
expensive than olive oil? I haven't seen it in the store yet.

Sounds like BS, but who knows? I'll stick to olive and peanut.
you have to live in Atlanta or Chicago to find it in the stores at this
moment. I wrote to Atkins to get their opinion. I think I'd try it if it
wasn't $5.95 plus shipping- same price as olive oil.

In my opinion, weight can be lost using any fat source in the diet. I have
read claims that omega 6 oils, such as safflower oil, are burned more
readily in the body, but I don't recall a legitimate study supporting it.
The are many who consider excess omega 6 to be dangerous.
I can't claim to understand the explanation given on the website, but I
would bet $100 their claims are bogus.
Coconut oil has a big following. You might want to google for it, as an
alternative.

Why is anyone following a low-carb lifestyle worried about fat? It's the
excess carbs in our lives that make most people overweight, not the fat in
the diet. The only fat we need to worry about is trans fat.

Its made by Archer Daniels Midland and a Japanese firm I have never heard of
called Kao. Arthur Daniels is a reputable company so when I see it and if
its not too pricey I plan to try it.

I don't worry too much about using oil, but I use too much. I'm sticking to
under 2000 calories ( a ton of low carb food) but 1/3 cup of oil on my salad
is ridiculous- and tons of energy

wouldn't it just be easier to ... oh i don't know ... not put so much
goddamn oil on your salad? i use a third of a cup to make an entire
batch of salad dressing that lasts me well over a week.
I might have been a little more tactful, but I was thinking the same thing.
They might as well just drink the oil right out of the bottle. Ewww!

i find the idea of eating 600+ calories worth of oil at a sitting to be
so shocking that i'm unable to be tactful about it.
or maybe i'm just a [censored].

It's available in Publix supermarkets in Florida, costs nearly triple what
canola oil costs. IMHO it's just another money making ploy. I love a good
olive oil anyway. Anyone ever mix salt, pepper, basil and a little olive oil
to dip radishes and celery in? Very nice! My Italian nonna used this mix 40+
years ago and kept in in a small Tupperware container.
The price is going to have to come way down for me to try it- I'll probably
find it in my local salvage store if not.
Its easy to use too much oil. I now toss my salads before putting them on my
plate and use a lot less. The discovery that mustard keeps the oil and
vinegar from separating also is that the dressing sticks to the greens
also-you don't need as much.
also 1 pat of butter will do in my eggs instead of 2- it all disappears in a
scramble.
Anyway, this renewed monitoring is helping- I've lost 2# this week, ending a
6 month stall.

It certainly is. I measure the olive oil out for my salads by the
teaspoon. If 1 teaspoon is not enough after tossing I add another
but 99 times out of 100, 1 teaspoon is enough..
i saw it in walmart. soy oil & canola oil is not good for us. stick to
peanut or olive oil
Why?
