Do a search on the web and read everything you can. The trip
is known variously as 'end to end' (e2e), LEJOG, JOGLE,
Lands End to John O'Groats and John O'Groats to Lands End.
Wind direction makes it better to start from Lands End but
either way works fine.

You have a choice between camping or staying in hotels/youth
hostels with showers, heating and kitchens. The former is
cheap, the latter is going to be much more expensive but
much more pleasant.

Sort out what you will take with you, then take only
half of it.

Having only rear panniers on the bike makes it handle
horribly. Adding front panniers makes it handle less
horribly. No idea what happens if you only have front
panniers tho.

Stay at Tongue youth hostel consider going to Cape Wrath and
back to Tongue the next day,and include Dunett Head on the
way to JoG the following day. You will have then visited the
most NW point (Cape Wrath ) and the most northerly point
(Dunnett Head) The Cape Wrath Challange cert. is avalable
from the CTC see web site www.ctc.org.uk . Adds a bit to the
story when you get back
