    State says clinic uses unapproved test device

    SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER

    At least 1,000 people every year pass through the doors of the Pacific
    Health Centers in Bellevue and Spokane, where first-timers receive an
    "electronic interview with the human body."

    The interview starts when clients are hooked up to a machine for
    "electrodermal testing." Monte Kline, who runs the centers, said the test
    gauges allergies, "nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities -- things
    conventional medicine doesn't even deal with."

    But the state Attorney General's Office has other ideas about what the test
    does and sued Kline this week, alleging that he sold a service he didn't
    deliver. An assistant attorney general, Cheryl Kringle, said the complaint
    accuses Kline of misrepresenting himself and the testing device and alleges
    that he used "electrodermal testing" for purposes not approved by the
    federal government.

    Well, hopefully Washington authorities will come to the same terms as Oregon
    did, which IMHO was reasonable for both parties--

    "In a January 2002 judgment in Clackamas County (Ore.) Circuit Court, Kline and
    Pacific Health Center, an Oregon corporation, agreed to pay $15,000 for costs
    of investigation and prosecution and to send letters to all clients since Jan.
    1, 1998, making disclosures related to lack of FDA approval."

    They were not required to stop using the device, only to send the letters to
    clients and make full disclosure that it is not an FDA approved procedure.

    In another article, I found this quite interesting. Obviously this must be an
    effective procedure, to have so many clients who are happy with this type of
    screening:

    "No consumers have complained about Kline or his centers and the services they
    provide, said assistant attorneys general Paula Selis and Cheryl Kringle. But
    the Attorney General's Office said the test has been administered to at least
    3,000 consumers in the past two years."

    I don't know who posted under this title, but must have been either Ted
    Nidiffer (aka Nanaweedkiller) or Mark Thorson.

    They are both lackeys for Barrett, and I'll just bet he is the one who behind
    the whole thing.

    Jan, you didn't get the original? Yes it was Nana person......

    I have greatly benefitted from electrodermal screening. I knew it was not FDA
    approved and could have cared less. My guess is that there are 3000 folks in
    Seattle that agree with me since none of them have complained. My guess is
    that Washington authorities will be hearing from a lot of them.......

    However, if Washington reaches the same settlement as Oregon, that would be ok
    with me. It was a moderate charge for investigation, and notification that the
    procedure is not FDA approved.

    If Washington tries to outlaw the use of it all together, then it is to the
    detriment of personal freedom, of course.

    sheesh some bureaucratic type tries to decide FOR them what they can and cannot

    Evidently it was becoming popular, and Barrett has a control problem, plus look
    at all that $$$$$$ organized medicine didn't get. Of course Barrett also says
    no alternative practitioner can be trusted.

    Wonder what the number is now with all the sue happy wasting of the courts
    time.
