  1. My Foreman grill is too small...

I'm getting to like using this thing so much, I'd like to experiment
with other foods on it, but I really do need a larger one!

I'd like to be able to cook an entire meal at once on ane, including
veggies such as sliced squash or asparagus.

What brands of large electric grills similar to the Foreman design are
there out there? Recomendations? Price ranges?

    Please? :-)

I'd asked Pastorio this question, but he ignored it. <sigh> Guess he's
    never used one...

    Thanks in advance!

We bought a George Foreman about 18 months ago which, at least at the time,
    was
the largest they made. It cost about $70 from Costco. It has plenty of
room for a couple of good-sized steaks plus veggies if you want. (I like to
julienne zucchini and yellow squash, marinate them with some Italian salad
dressing and throw them on the grill.)

Watch for it - Foreman has now come out with a couple of sizes where the
grill plates are removable and washable. I think they're called the
"Generation" model or something. Seems to me the prices are around $70 and
    $100. HTH

    Katra,
    This is worth a look.

Not too pricy IMO, fully opens to grill on both sides, removable
grids, and flat surfaces are a plus, for pancakes, etc. . . looks slick
    too.

  4. I have the Hamilton-Beach grill...the larger one. It's rectangular
and has removable grids for ease of washing. The drip tray is a drawer
in the end and has never overflowed like my Foreman grill did. It has
a two year warranty and costs about 80. Canadian. depending on where
you find it. I had a problem with a speck of the teflon coming off
after a week of use and called their 800 number. No problem...they sent
me a new grill plate to replace it. And a week before the warrantee
expired, the plastic knob broke. I called again and asked if they would
send two since it seemed the most vulnerable part of the whole
thing....no problem...came in the mail in a few days. I use it a lot,
and never had another problem with the teflon. My Foreman grill didn't
    hold up as well. HTH.....Sharon

    Cool, sounds reasonable! :-)
Since I like to shop on line, I might check Amazon.com.

    Thanks!

There are newer LARGE sized "Foreman" grills out there:

    http://store.yahoo.com/giftplus/georfordoubi.html

200 square inches of cooking surface it says.

Well, as great as my little one works, this might end up being my
choice. :-) $124.99 was a little above my price range, but do-able!

I'd like to be able to cook an entire meal at once on ane,

If I were to purchase one myself, I got one as gift, I would go with the ones
that are "foreman grill" & electric griddle. like:

    http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?icatid=23&stk_code=salgf20g&svbname=403

It would be a good "portable" kitchen to cook at work or places where my
portable gas grill can not be used.

Mmmm... but I'd have very little use for the griddle.
Low carb ya know. <G> I prefer my eggs poached or steamed.

Couldn't tell you if it would work for this. One, way too healthy, and two I
    don't eat either.

<giggles> I don't eat them because they are good for me, I eat them
because I _like_ them! :-) Grilled portabellos are another real treat!
Dunked in a little salad dressing prior to grilling. Mmmmm...... ;-d

Heres a few of the various styles out there:

    http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=electric%20grill%20griddle&btnG=Froogle+Se
    arch

    Groovy, thanks!
I knew they were out there, I was just wondering if anyone had a
favorite that gets nice and hot!

There is always kamado if I want to shell out the $$$. I've heard they
    are fantastic!

I got one of the smaller ones as a gift, and at first I was like "Oh great
another waste appliance." BUT I've since come to like it some what. I prefer
    to
use my gas grill for real grilling. I decided to try it one night to make
    some
hamburgers. It did its job and cooked the meat. I have relegated the device
    to
when I feel "dont want to put clothes on to go outside" grill items,
    hamburgers,
hot dogs. I would NEVER put a steak on it, never. Those minute steak things I
might try on it too when I get a chance. I think I am also going to try
    cooking
sausage, like breakfast sausage now that I think of it.

Also get one with REMOVEABLE GRATES for easy cleaning.

Yes, that is the hopeful plan! I don't have a gas grill. If the foreman
is hot enough and you give the steak a light marniade ahead of time, the
foreman really does do a good job!

But, I agree that steak is best on the outside grill.
I have plenty of firewood, but the fire takes a good hour to burn down
to usable coals even if I just make a small fire. Don't always have time
    for that!

The foreman gets used mostly for brunches. We sleep too late for
    "breakfast". ;-)

Makes fanTAStic grilled catfish fillets!!! Much, much better than
frying. Fish does not dry out at all in that grill!

Nice! Looks similar to the foreman, (same surface area) and has temp.
    control. Same price too.

    Thanks!

Goodness! If you wore out a foreman, you must use your grill a LOT! <lol>
I've been using my little one now for about a year and it's nowhere near
ready to wear out, but it has no temp. control knob either.

Thanks for the recommend! Wal-mart has Hamilton Beach.
