Any comments from anybody out there?
My last bloods were Total cholesterol 4.8 (U.K. units), HDL 1.26, HbA1c
6.5. (hoping to improve in 6 months) I am on 48u Lantus (taken in one shot
on rising) + 3x500mg Metformin; plus various blood pressure meds and
pravastatin
It is advised in the U.K. to restrict eggs to 2 per week, half fat cheese
in moderation, "normal" sausage/bacon not recommended. You probably get my
drift.
I find ANY carb at breakfast (e.g. 1 slice home made whole meal bread with
extra fibre or 1/4 to 1/3 cup whole grain cereal) pushes me up from bg low
to mid 5s (U.K. units again) to High 7s to 8s 2 hr post pran, even after
heavy exercise in the gym, so heaven knows what my 1 hr bg is.
What CAN I breakfast on? Turkey rashers, tomatoes, mushrooms get a bit
tedious. Might try a mixed fruit smoothie. Any more suggestions? Any benefit
from splitting my Lantus to 2x24u 12 hr apart? What do the experts out there
say?
