Just got back from Sydney this morning and boy, am I feeling ordinary.
I soloed on my Recumbent and did 350km.
Nice effort

this started to tell around 3pm.
My average speed went from 38kmh for the first few laps down to around
29kmh at the end.
Lots of roadie team packs doing hot laps then pitting and changing for
fresh riders.
I was a bit surprised there wasn't more of this, there seemed to be only two bunches of any real size going around, mostly just
seemed to be small groups of 4 or less.

and a cool wind.
In the solos, top two blokes were on Road bikes doing lots of pack sucking.
Next three were Low recumbEnts doing it all on their lonesome.
Ian Humphries from Flying Furntiture did a very good job on his

holding down 3rd place only 1:20 behind second place.
Irony was the prize that Ian got for 3rd place was a carbon seat post.
Ian scratched his head and thought "what am I gunna do with this?"
That was funny.
I wandered in to lend support to the guys racing Birdy after a club XC race in the morning. I took lots of photos
A few here http://www.users.bigpond.com/rob.parbery/ec12hr/
After a couple of hours watching I was wishing I was out having a ride it looked like fun.
There was a nasty crash in Pit Lane, from accounts it sounded like the guy was looking down at his ankle trying to remove his
transponder and somehow lost control of his steering which turned sharply and then wheel just collapsed sending him face first into
the concrete. Was very glad he hadn't hit somebody as there were a few little kids wandering around. St Johns were on the seen
pretty quick and the ambos took him away. I hope he's OK.
