Tops are *now* lower han main sunnits after a century or so of revisions of Sir Shuggie's original
tables. However in the 1891 set there were several glaring examples of 'preferred' summits which
were not the obvious highest points. The In Pinn did not get a mention in the original tables but
must have been known to have been higher then the Trig Point. It was marked on the 1890 map by
Charles Pilkington (see 'The Munroist's Companion', by Robin N Campbell, p219).

The anomolies which spring to mind are (details again from TMC), there are some others:

1891 - Beinn Dheiceach (M), 3074 ft; Meall Glas (T), 3139 ft. Now - Beinn Cheathaich (T), 937 m;
Meall Glas (M), 959 m.

1891 - Meall Chuirn (M), 3007 ft; Sgiath Chuil (T), 3050 ft. Now - Meall a'Churain (T), 918 m;
Sgiath Chuil (M), 921 m.

and best of all, 1891 - Meall a'Chaoruinn (M), 3004 ft; Fuar Bheinn (T), 3064 ft; Glas Meall Mor
(M), 3037 ft. Now - Meall a'Chaoruinn (x), 916 m; A'Bhuidheanach Bheag (M), 936 m; Glas Mheall Mor
(T), 928 m.

At first sight the changes of names/spelling confuse the issue but the positional data
matches them up.

OT - all these Munros are "Easy Munros".

You don't have to worry about Liathach as there is a bypass path. Similarly, you can get the two
Munros at either end of the Aonach Eagach without traversing it.
