  1. The grandkid stays over and want to go bike he says. In
the morning I say. Remember he's the one that went on the Holloweeen
night ride with me and about 2 miles into that he wanted to turn back
and was saying lost. He turned 6 last weekend between the party we went
mtbing. Well we head out in the morning at 9am after 2 hours
of him saying woods woods. I take him to a place he's never been before.
He sees the hill at the trail head and say big hill down, rocks., bumpy.
At the bottom off the hill it gets sandy for about 30 feet and I fake a
crash and land looking up at the sky. He says off about 50 feet get up
Fred Fred and then ride over,( proceeds to run me over). Were up and
riding again when we come into a dog walker not one but two dogs the
size of my 18 lbs cat. The walker yells early for mtbing. My
reply I mtb all year round. Maybe he ment to early in the morning. More
hills the kid is yelling Fred fred wait. So I leed him to the roller
coaster and he loved that. Now you Fred Fred. Home Fred Fred ok. Out on
the fresh paved roads anothe way home he turns into a speed freak and
wants to drag race. Big hill I'm up 3/4 from the top Fred Fred wait.
This is small ring big cog hill even my 3 speed makes it with me hoff
ing and puffing. I Wait for him with the flag men telling him to pedal.
At the top of the hill the kid say more woods so I take him to his woods
and finally a stop at the playgound and back track 1/2 mile home.

Way to go Fred Fred! Is that like his term for Pop Pop? My father had
two open heart surgeries (one at 32), so he can't do that with my kids.
I bet you had a bigger smile on your face than your grandson.

  4. Fred Fred is because he has a speech problem. I speak
fine but I call him Markie Mark. So theres no mistake with his
father Mark the [censored]. When the kid comes in the door first words out
of his mouth is Fred Fred ride bike, then he picks the bike he wants me
to ride. Now get this he isn't my biological grand son but I do a better
job then the real one. Tomorrow night I got to rig up a portable
basketball system at his house. May have to bring along a bike to ride
since Bluff Point State Park is a few block behind his house. And I get
    to pick the bike.

You get top marks in my book! A grandfather or a father for what it's
worth has nothing to do with biology. It's all about love and it's
plain to see that is what exists between the two of you.

You cheered me up from the miserable day I have been having here in
Anaheim. Nothing has been going right at this convention. My servers
are all messed up, Internet lines are going up and down, and peple are
screaming at me. But, now I'm smiling because of your great story!

Sorry to hear your having a bummer day Mitch. I just posted a link to some
photos I took in the Sedona area today. Hope they cheer you up as well.
Not a lot of riding content but scenic none the less.

There's always a visit to Didney Lamb...

Nice pics. You already know Sedona is on my top 10 list. No time for
Disney. Besides, if I have that much time, I'd rent a car and a bike
    and ride Alisso.

Same with today and it's actually warmer back home in Philly. I like it
here though. I ride my inlines from the hotel to the convention center
in a suit without even a turn of anyone's head. I guess it's not a
    strange thing to see.
