It's a little odd, because Bicycles.de used to have a link from the German pages to the English versions, this seems to have gone, though as you show there are still English pages there, and they do still seem to be the same as the German ones.

It wasn't until some bright-spark [no sarcasm intended] on this ng managed to worm his way into those pages that I had any awareness they were still there.

I was asking the very same question myself.....was the link taken off at the onset of the Iraq war? Who knows. Maybe we don't want to know the answer the that question. One thing is for sure, you won't get the Nexus hub [or the Lumotec lamp for that matter] for the same price over here.

The total price of 53.45 Euro seemed better to me than I could do in UK. It arrived the day before the Dunwich Dynamo ride so I had to get involved in wheel building against the clock !

Tempted by this kind of setup, but I think I may end up relying on the dynamo too much. Daft question, but I wonder if it'd be possible to get the nice Bisy optics in a cheapo, DC-friendly lamp anywhere?
I like the double mounting bracket they [www.m-gineering.nl] have though. Bizzarrely, my shiny new audax bike seems not to have the front brake clearance you need to mount one of the standard B&M brackets. I've ended up using an old-fashioned threaded headset mount for my Lumotec.

I'm just being cautious. I prefer two fully independent systems for the front lights if possible, so that if one breaks I can get back home and fix it in comfort and with proper lighting.
The hub dynamo in question is a nice piece of kit, very reliable by all accounts, but still forms a single point of failure in a 12V serial setup (as do the wires, connectors, and my rubbish soldering).

Just drop a Pretzl or similar headtorch in the bag in case: not ideal, but good enough to get you home.

My soldering is so comic I had a friend do it (an electronics tech, so his is exemplary). A good thing if you don't want your lights to be practice quality.

So do I. So I have a 12V dynamo rig, as discussed, plus an emergency backup light.
