Some how the idea that you could still enjoy the spectacle and a great
sporting contest between the riders who haven't tested positive was
something they couldn't comprehend. It seems to have become a religious
campaign beyond all reason in Germany to try and destroy The Tour and
cycling.

It is all rather ironic because the reason so many riders are testing
positive is that they are finally catching them making the sport the
cleanest it has been for decades. Why successfully catching someone should
should require a boycott I don't get? Should they slacken off testing so no
one else tests positive?

the Pharmaceutical lobby ...

you see they make EPO ( which works- but its illegal in sport), and they make a heap of other drugs for the public (which don't work better than a placebo, but are legal), so they want the public to accept that their products are good for them.
Anti drug campaigns in sport and healthy lifestyles are bad for business, so publicly deny an icon sport exists and remove access to that icon sport and your business gets back on track.... why just cycling...well its corrupted their "son" in Jan, and the French control it anyway through ASO so why help the Froggies out?

Football isnt sport...its a gathering of patients and clients taking their other drug interests of booze and tobacco...
