Maybe for you. For me, I am able to go further, longer, faster. Takes me
about 20 mins for 1km open water, in a pool, its almost 30mins.

Your claim is that your speed decreases by 50% when you move from open
water into the pool. And it's not decreasing from fast to not so fast.
It's decreasing from slow to agonizingly slow. 3 minutes per 100m. I
can't imagine a scenario where that would make sense.

Yes, but it says nothing about swimming fitness. These tests don't measure
    swimming speed and endurance.

My point exactly. It is not required for a navy diver.

Well, I guess Canada has never been known for its navy.

Uhm... it is 1/3 slower. 20/30 =2/3, so, the difference is 1/3. Im guessing
your math is not as good as your swimming.

    No, 30 - 20 is 10. 10/20 is 50% slower. 30 minutes is 3/2 of 20 minutes.
You have to actually do math as a diver. Your life depends on it.

I'm from Tacoma, Washington. We are good at building bridges. We didn't
used to be, but we learned from our mistakes, and we created the science
    of wind tunnel testing.

I know you are wrong here, however, it is pointless for me to figure out how
    to argue it.

If you have a whole applepie, and you slice it into 30 even slices. if 20 of
your friends each eat 1 slice, how much pie do you have?

    It is not 1/2.

If it is, I am glad I would never dive with you. I would end up dead

The only thing about the American navy better than Canada is: Sheer Volume.
We can pick up their subs miles away. We have Beer on ship(american ships
are dry) Their Friggits are smaller. Their large ships ar banned from

I could go on and on and on, but I wont.

The americans purchase equipment from us canadians. The CADPAT design that
the americans use, was originally canadian. the americans just changed the

If I were on an american ship, my job would be so specific. I am a Marine
engineering mechanic. On our ships, I deal with anything that is machinery,
but is not weapons or black water/. If I were on an american ship, I would
be incharge of one piece of machnery, an not have a clue about anything
    else.

I like my trade. I love my country.

Your apple pie begins with 20 slices, because you are able to swim 1k in
20 minutes in open water. When you swim 1k in the pool, you have to add
    10 slices.

Your time is 2 minutes per 100m in open water. It reduces to 3 minutes
per 100m in the pool. That's a reduction in speed of 1 minute per 100m.
    1 minute is 50% of 2 minutes.

I hope you get the benz and not the bends.

Germans can do arithmetic. But look at it this way. When you move from
the pool to open water, your speed increases by 1/3. That's the opposite
effect of the rest of the human race, but like you said, you are odd.

But you're right, Canada hasn't made nearly as many destructive blunders
as the US. It hasn't made nearly as many advances either.

I guess you do not like zippers? The telephone? And then there was
    something called the Avro Arrow.

The telephone? I could have sworn.

Alexander Graham Bell invented it in Canada. I think he was British though.

Look all those wonderous things you wrote about the Canadian navy. Then
compare it to the one, short sentence I wrote about the US navy.

If you talked good things about where you work, and I tried to shoot it
    down, what would you think?

You were the one who said "Wave the flag higher." You also claim that
Canadian Navy divers don't have to be good swimmers. You said there is no
swimming requirement to be a diver in the Canadian Navy.

There is no swimming requirement for a Navy Diver in Canada.

But is the Canadian Navy proud of you?

    Yes, very much so.

    You are a fool.

Don't look in the mirror, you might just see something you do not want
    to see.

You mean because "Objects in mirror or closer than they appear."

I'll bet that if a person who can't swim applied to be a diver in the
Canadian Navy, the Canadian Navy would reject his application. That
would mean there is a swimming requirement. But, you know best.

This is obviously not true. Why bother to argue?
