Drilling rims

Get a 5/16" drill bit, drill away, clean up the edges with a rat tail file. You should do with with
any new wheels anyway, for that day that the only spare tube you can find is shraeder. And no, I've
never had a rim fail because of drilling

The only reasons I can think of to prevent using a Shraeder tube would be if the rim is
exceptionally narrow (road bike size) or aero profile (sometimes hard to center the drilling)

Otherwise, use a 21/64 bit (yes, an odd one, but that extra 1/64 from 5/16 is quite handy with
normal, rubber coated valves (some Latex tube have fully threaded valves like Presta.)

My LBS'll do it for you, but they won't warranty the rim if it breaks there later...

Yeah the tubes do have the fully threaded vavles, sort of threw me at first never seen that
before...so tomorrow I drill the rims and use the tubes.

If you use a presta tube in a schrader hole, the stem where it connects to the tube may get weak
from the edges of the hole (even if you round it with a file). Of course this is over a long period
of time, but I learned this the hard way. You can't fix a torn stem no matter how many patches you
have in your bag.

I cut a piece of an old tube and slipped the stem thru that to give extra protection
around the hole.
