Yup, I got wiped out by a stationwagon doing a U-turn over double white lines no more than 40 metres from a roundabout today. Me and the Trek slid right over the bonnet and down the road at about 35k, and the [censored] just planted his/her foot and dissappeared. A nice lady stopped to help, but was so shocked by what she saw she could barely get a word out.
I managed to continue the 40k ride home, kind of powering on as though nothing had happened. But at the moment i'm feeling pretty hurt - not just because of the incredible jarring my hip/torso received, or the chunks out of my knee and elbow, but because of the absolute lack of care AND humanity that was delivered by this person - and I use the word 'person' only because of lack of a better title.
My two little girls have got themselves a lot of hugs and kisses today, and my wife thinks I just slipped off in the rain. I'm sitting here wondering if this kind of thing is EVER going to get better - even after the death of a star - these [censored] still harbour nothing but contempt for a peacefull, law-abiding, father/mother/son/daughter laying sprawled out in the middle of a highway.
