A very civic-minded and selfless act, Fred. As long as the Good
Samaritan Law protects you in that case, you should be ok in case the
kid wipes out and the cheapo parents decide to try and sue you.

Bingo. Also good the wife was there so no one can claim something bogus
happened.

That's a nice thing to do. I work on a lot of my friend's bikes, but
the kids around my neighborhood are too busy playing video games.

Never had a chain in my fleet of 9 fail yet. And in the
days before I got a chain tool I used pin punch and hammer. And for
sure you don't know what a kid will say or do in todays world.

I've never broken a chain while riding, either. I guess I'm not that
