"if a car-driver attacks a cyclist, that ain't news. That's a commonplace occurrence. But if a cyclist attacks a car-driver, now that's news."
"A man was injured yesterday after being attacked by a cyclist in an apparent road rage incident. The man was driving between Reisdorf and Moestroff near Diekirch, when the cyclist became agitated at the flow of traffic and started making aggressive gestures towards him, including a throat cutting motion. The car driver got out of his car at which point he was punched several times by the cyclist, who was claiming to be a police officer at Steinfort. The incident continued when the cyclist produced a knife and attempted to stab the car driver, who was injured in the hand. The driver was forced to flee and later received several stitches to his palm. Witnesses to the incident which occurred at 4 pm yesterday, are asked to contact police in Diekirch. The man is described as just over one metre seventy tall with short grey brown hair. He is well built and was wearing grey metallic cycle shorts speaking accentless Luxembourgish" ["]http://www.station.lu/newsDetails.cfm?id=1299]
I'd be interested to hear what the driver had done - bear in mind the day in question was Monday 22nd Sept 2003 - Car-free day everywhere else but Luxembourg, where they staged it on the previous Sunday and it was a flop anyway.
