I said it before, and I shall repeat it. Do you have a bike that costs $11,000+? No? Then stop boasting.
JTE83 said:OK, my $9000 retail 06 CF Cervelo Soloist Team Zipp 404 clinchers ergomo pro Campy Record Zero Gravity Selle CF Passione FSA K Force Light bike does come short! Yeah, I'm just too poor!
CRIKEY!! $9000US for an alu Han Soloist?
Much of my Han Soloist is used, but I put this 'rocket' together for ~$3800 AUS, which is some effort, if you you know anything about Aus bike prices 🙂
The hardest part about riding multiple bikes is finding enough saddles that suit you [censored]!! 🙂 I've only got 4 seats that I like, so I sometimes pull the whole seat and seatpost out of one bike to ride another!! 🙂

If you find a seat that you like, is it not possible to buy the same seat for all your bikes?

But only if you can get a great deal. Me, I found the carbon braided Arione that all you chumps pay 160 Euro for 39,196768949080928247746505490820 Euro.
I got a great deal and therfore bought twelve. Even though I just have two bikes... 😄

Its amazing you actually remember the price. I bet you couldn't remember it again. :p

nah, I'm very fussy! 😄 There's only a couple of old Vetta saddles that my [censored] likes. I ran out of money trying new saddles :p.
I'll get 'round to it again one day
coneofsilence said:Wow thats a great price. How did you do that. What kind of parts do you have?
I was pretty lucky with the frame: it was $1000 brand new (but without a fork) off a guy who had it as a warranty replacement. When he was waiting for his new frame from Cervelo, he rode his buddy's BMC, decided he preferred that to his Soloist, so he bought a BMC and sold me the Cervelo when it arrived.
I got the wheels 2nd hand off a racing buddy for $750.
The levers and cassette are 9-speed, so I saved a few bucks there.
Apart from the frame, the only other things new on the bike are the pedals, rear derailleur, stem, cassette and chain.
My co-worker says the bike is going to be delivered on April 15. Gee, that date sounds familiar for something else😕. Anyway, he says that he will ride it to work someday so that I can check it out, and beleive me, I will check it out and let you know what bike costs $11,000. And Pete, I'll get pictures if I can.
i remember the article about the lugged ti Merlin roadie, hand-engraved, full Record...$15,000 USD.
Of course, it's not US-made, but the Storck prototype -- carbon EVERYTHING (almost), the whole bike weighed <= 10lb. $18,000!!

So does it exist?? 😕
Here in New Zealand we can walk into a LBS and buy(they'd have to get it in on order) that new Scott that has the lightest production frame with full Dura Ace and pay $21 000(and our dollar is at 79c / US) for it full retail.:o
I don't think many are selling !

so, you get farked over on bike prices just as bad as us, plus a bit more, hey!?? 🙂

has had a lot of interaction with the company. Your right any bicycle rider spending this money knows the specs.
'Don't know about individuals, but I was recently surprised at the number of bicycle companies that don't know the specs on the bikes they "build"!
Many in fact just shuffle their logo over to a manufacturer in China who practically delivers direct to the store...

I've been really tied up all week working on a problem that we are having with a piece of equipment at work and haven't had a chance to talk to Greg about his wonder-bike. I'm working tomorrow😠 and if he is there, I'll make it a point to ask him.
