Does fasted Zone 2 training improve fat oxidation?

  1. Does fasted Zone 2 training actually improve fat oxidation or is this just another fad thats been perpetuated by pseudo-scientific cycling experts who think theyre above the basics of human physiology.

    Whats the actual science behind this supposed benefit and can anyone provide a credible source that supports the claim that fasted Zone 2 training is superior to, say, regular Zone 2 training with adequate nutrition.

    Is it not possible that the supposed benefits of fasted Zone 2 training are simply a result of caloric restriction and dehydration, rather than any actual increase in fat oxidation.
