  1. I got these off the uq.forsale newsgroup and I'm a little concerned...
given that one guy is advertising four bikes, which are all being parked
in a public place and the guy is using a prepaid phone number -> seem
dodgy? (Name of poster withheld, as it might not be dodgy.) Anywhere I
can look up reports of stolen bikes, etc?

I sent back a friendly email asking about model numbers, receipts for
warranty claims, which shop is servicing, why he's selling four bikes -
is he going OS or is Bne cycling too scary? - etc.

the stadium Gate C is wierd tho. unless he/she works there and is selling unclaimed bikes left there?

I was about to ask how you knew it was prepaid, then I read the
advertisement. It seems weird not to just give the number (which can be
changed from contract > prepaid > different carrier > whatever fairly
quickly and easily). I think if he was a genuine crook then he'd not
publicise the use of a prepaid phone. But then again, maybe it's a double
    bluff 🙂

  4. Maybe the ad should say "bring your own bolt cutters"

prepaid reference may be to encourage other users of prepaid to call, they
usually have cheap rates between prepaid accounts..(of the same carrier)
then again, could be a scam🙂

lol, my bike trailer has a largish wire cage on it. One day I'm going to
mount a jack, shovel and bolt cutters to it, just like "real" 4WDers do
    on their vehicles {:-).
