Looks like he's trying to make eBay work his way! Why doesn't he just set a
reserve? Have you seen the bid history? Ha ha! Also, don't you think £1000
is a little cheap for that bike?

Looks like he's trying to dodge Ebay's fees; they'll sting him for a % on
the final bid price.. If that's lower so are the fees....

He doesn't have enough feedback points (ie, zero) to use 'Buy it Now'.
