Sometimes when riding in a group I wonder if the person behind me can tell what I've had for breakfast. Since I have been eating more often during the day my body seems to process better. I've also heard that gas means that my system is not properly digesting something I have eaten. Just wondering if you've been behind someone like me?

Is this a protein issue? I also have problems like this when eating a lean cuisine/healthy choice etc frozen lunch. Today I think it's the cheese I had at lunch. DH says I can peel the paint from the walls <blushing>
He drinks a lot of the supplement shakes, I don't. But I tend to eat a lot more of the protein bars and the new favorite from last summer is powerbar energy bites. And like I said, those lunches, if I have one at work, by the time I get home, let's just say things are rumbling.

Ever try drinking Exeed while eating a Power Bar, gives you the most gross smelling farts, I mean toxic, and it does the same thing to everybody.

g'day,

I've long thought about getting a pair of shorts with "Breath my gas" written across the butt...but I lack the motivation to figure out a cheap way of having the lettering done. I wonder if that will disturb anyone on my wheel?

Would be funny to see the expressioins of people coming up behind you though! LOL

I was going to try to script something serious by way of a reply but I'm still laughing at your message !What I was going to say is that I never have enough gas - but not in the flatulence meaning of the word !
Your message is very good though !

It's actually more to do with carbohydrates. The more 'complex' carbohydrates cannot be digested by humans so are used by intestinal bacteria for their metabolic needs and the byproduct is gas.
For some people, their riding technique or position contributes in that excessive use of the muscles in front of the spine affects the nerves to the intestines. If this is the problem, you are more likely to get excess gas after a ride. -

While I'm sympathetic to your issue, please do us a favor and pass (no pun intended) on your turn at the front. We'll gladly allow you a free ride for the duration.
Actually, this is quit a serious issue. Some possible solutions:
1. Don't inhale during your ride. No air in means no air out.
2. Always plan your ride with a tailwind. Take a cab home.
3. Instead of water or an energy drink, fill your bottle with Beano tablets and water.
4. Take the hose of your hydration pack and..., well, you get the idea. Don't fill it with water, though....
5. Eat massive amounts of garlic. Tell everyone you're on a health kick.I'll continue to give thought to this matter, and inquire with my friend's wife, who is registered nurse. Thanks for being a sport.

I don't, but the riders behind me do! (just kidding)
