Faced that dilemma twice in 27 years. Stopped both times, stood up straight, removed hat, faced
cortège, bowed head as coffin went past, waited until main mourners has gone by, then replaced hat

When I was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, KS in 1995 for CGSC, the powers that be forbid running
through the cemetery, and wasn't keen on folks running *by* it either--whether or not a funeral was
in progress.

No. Why would you? I would not run THROUGH one by any means (of course)!!! That would be aweful.
But if you are on the other side of the street or whatever... I don't see why you would stop. The
funeral is their business... running is your's... so you are each respectfully minding your own

I keep running to try to forestall being the guest of honor in a funeral procession for as long as
possible. I would however not run in a cemetery where a service was taking place nor through the
parking lot of a funeral home or Church when some sort of service was going on.
