  1. I have been working out many years.Recently to my delight im noticing
my better gains are with a decrease workout out in lentgh.

I also started semi recnetly working on neglected body parts, and im
pretty happy with the rate of over all progress.

Now where does my constant floor come in,you know it my BELLY!!

I never had good genectics in that area, however i have become i guess
addicted,or just created a habbit where i will spradically drop and do
600-800 situps at a time through the day.

I have been doing this well well over a year and see no results!I try
to do the tightest form i can and isolate the muscles but no matter
what i hardly ever feel and burn there.

I have also tried resistane with a plate but my arms feel a burn before
my stomach does, and all that happens is the weight causes me to loose
good form before it does anything else.

The only thing i found that comes even close to a burn is hanging off a
    bunk bed.

IM LEFT to wonder a few things,......am i over training my abs by not
only doing it daily but countless times daily.

Am i doing bad form, since im easly able to do 1000,however i dont see
how else i could do it,i even apply a pull at the top .

Now heres where I KNOW is a problem,my diet!I dont eat junk food,i dont
visit the store EVER for chips,or cookies,i dont eat out.

But my grocery shopping is normal, meaning i have the waffle with
cereal,or i have the fried breast for dinner,i dont shop for a person
into weight lifting i just shor economy wise sense im not the only one
    eating and money is scarce.

Im not looking for a flat board stomach,i lift heavy and i know ill be
more bulky and im fine with that, but my god cant i have some shape or
muscle showing this on my tummy?????

If i put in even half the time i put in for situps on any other body
part id be one happy camper.

I also cant shop for specific food because im on a Maoi anti
depressant, parnate, which is suppsed to be stimulating, anyway im have
some social issues so my workouts are done in my home gym but i dont
get out to shop but once.

Last im wondering if depression is in there, ive read about cortisol
being both lowered and highered by excsercise,in my opinion my weight
training does aggavate my depression which is why i take my drug after
a workout, anyway sorry for the novel any comment to this is
    appreciated,thank you.

Yep. Reduce your body fat percentage by eating less and gradually over
time you will have some shape and muscle showing up on your tummy. No
abdominal exercise is going to help you see the muscle you have since
even if you managed to grow your abs, they would be covered with fat.

You are wasting your time with doing hundreds of situps. If you want
to strengthen your abdominal muscles then do low reps, high resistance
training. But don't expect this to help you with what you want:
defined abs. You can only get defined abs by lowering your body fat.
For men you will likely have to get below 12%.

    Unnecessary.

Well, then the hell with situps. Try a different exercise. How about
leg raises hanging from a chin bar or supported on one of those dip
stations? Keep momentum to a minimum (no swinging your legs) and really
/feel/ the movement as you perform slow, continuous tension
    repetitions.

    Maybe.

    my diet!

Fried breast? Chicken? Frying and fat reduction seems bass ackwards.

i just shop economy wise since im not the
only one eating and money is scarce.

Well, I've been hitting the spinach and at least that's inexpensive.
And oatmeal isn't caviar, right? There are lots of cheap but healthy
options. Perhaps that'd be a good thread to start...

    Anyone? Anyone? Ferris?

    this on my tummy?????

Yes, but as has been passed on to you elswhere in this thread your
bodyfat has to be reduced before you'll see any six-pack action.

And even then you could be screwed. Boyer Coe, Olympia bodybuilding
competitor of years gone by, was never able to develop any manner of
six-pack. Just not genetically capable. Lee Priest, another Olympia
competitor has been quoted as stating he does NO ab work, but that his
    six-pack is all from dieting.

    ive read about cortisol

I've also read about cortisol. This may be unrelated to the
antidepressant you mentioned, but a friend was on Paxil and I remember
the bottle saying to NOT use with alcohol. And alcohol use is supposed
to do a job on your hormones/cortisol so far as getting cut is
    concerned, iirc.

    sorry for the novel

Nah! I like reading books. Welcome to misc.fitness.weights, Brooklyn.

Best of luck with your abs.

Sit-ups or crunches? Unless you are training for ab endurance you
    need to add resistance/difficulity.

Concentrate on using good form no matter. Make sure you are
crunching your torso during the sit-up.
