  1. I'm 45, sedentary due to bulging disks and stenosis, and my armpits are
filling with fat and I'm getting man-[censored]!

I have all the signs/symptoms of low testosterone (blood levels pending).

I forgot to ask the MD if aerobics or weights will stimulate testosterone
    production?
Anyone have the answer based on credible medical literature?

Based on the above description, you also forgot to ask the MD for a
prescription for testosterone as part of a hormonal replacement therapy
program. If he doesn't do so, based on the pending results, find another
physician. Try a member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine

Yes, but it won't make that lil' 2"er get bigger.

  4. Marty,

Hormonal replacement is the best solution.
I went through the same thing four years ago.
You will get much better results form any exercise you do.
If you need a referral let me know.

Ok, but do weight lifting or aerobics stimulate an increased production of
testosterone in a 45 year old male?

I thought it did, but not to the degree that some thought. It really
doesn't? Sorry...Lyle is gone, so you'll have to fill in.

Well of course. Its not going to be the same as taking a pill or
getting hormone injections, but overtime, if you bust your ass with a
good hard workout everyday and lower your fat intake, increase your
fiber, stop drinking booze, etc you will be in a good range.

You didn't say how tall you are or how much you weigh.

    You could just be fat.

  11. Interesting question.

Women have a lot less testosterone then men, yet there are many women
weight lifters and fitness competitors who are buff.

Mabye testosterone isn't as important as a good regime.

I'm not sure how you meant that, so I'll assume it was well-intentioned.
I'm 70 inches and 175 pounds which puts my bmi at 25.

Are these women that you refer to taking steroids to achieve the buffed
    look?

That is not a bad weight for that height, but you could still be out of
shape from having been sedentary. While you were sedentary your
muscles probably atrophied and you probably put on fat.

You don't need to be low testosterone to put fat on your arms or chest.

If you can lift weights and do aerobic exercise do it. It is good for
you either way and no matter what the outcome of your testosterone
situation is you will need to both to change your body.

Get your blood tested to see if you really have a problem.

In regards to my other post I wasn't talking about female body
builders, but about fitness competitors. Some use drugs, some do not.
Both do tons of cardio, stretching, and weights. Both are buff.

Let us know how your blood tests workout.
