Hmmm, right - from one of his more recent posts, I may have gleaned something - if it's very wet and
muddy (slippery), it's often advisable to lay off the front brake _a bit_, and use gentle gradual
rear wheel braking to scrub off the speed, or it's all too easy for the front end to wipe out, and
it does so unpredictably fast - if the rear goes, it's usually more gradual, and the warning signs
are often evident in good time to stop it from being nasty.
Now, of course, some of us Britainians get around this problem related to our [censored] trail
