  1. No big suprise hear, Discovery cannot afford the to risk it's
sponsorship reputation of UCI's actions. The other big factor is that
Ullrich's form is inconsistent. The other question is what shape is
Ullrich in now and how long will it take for him to get into
competitive condition..?? Ullrich's carrer is probably on the decline
now. I hope Ullrich can clear himself.

I was also suprised that Discovery picked up Cruz again. I wonder they
dropped Cruz in the first place...?? Makes me wonder now that they have
    signed Leipheimer as well.

Discovery won't have the money for Jan after signing Basso.

Sure they will, since they're only hiring Flandis to be a domestique in
support of an unnamed retired riders' come back. All of which has been
orchestrated by the french in an attempt to revitalize the Tour.
They've realized they need a savior.

I do hope that was /conscious/ irony.

"If a mutually agreed solution can't be found between Riis and Basso for the
last two years of the Italian talent's contract, Discovery Channel, Lance
Armstrong's former team is reportedly ready to sign the 2006 Giro d'Italia
    winner."
