  1. As I've mentioned on previous posts I am only in my second week of WW. The first week was GREAT!!
Now it's getting harder. I had enough food to probably count all my Flex points, but I decided to
let it go b/c I knew I'd need the flex points later this week. I also wasn't sure how many points to
count for it b/c it was finger food at a party. I didn't overdo it though- I did skip the cake. Then
today I went Christmas shopping and bought some cordial cherries for my nephew, but opened the box
and ate some b/c I was going to wrap them up w/ a $20, but hadn't hit the ATM yet. So I'm over by
three points today. I did eat only 6 of them and threw the rest of the box away, which is a big step
b/c before I just would've eaten all of them. Now that I read it, it doesn't sound that bad, even if
I did go over by three points I still worked out a lot this week. I'm still worried about gaining
this week, or not losing. I feel like I totally messed up this week, but I know I am being a little
hard on myself. Thanksgiving is coming up and I know I'm going to probably not eat that great then.

  2. Try not to get discouraged! This is not an all or nothing deal! Just because you ate a bit over
doesn't mean you can't just make better choices tomorrow, and the day after that and so on.

Every time you make a good choice - carrots over chocolates, walking over snacking, journaling what
you eat - you are getting closer to your goal.

Maybe you should write down why you started, and the reasons you want to lose weight. Then you can
refer back to your list when you have discouraging moments, to help you get back to the better
choices. And after all, that's what this is - a series of choices. You choose to eat well, you
choose to journal, you choose to exercise. No one is in charge of those choices but you. And each
step in the right direction helps get you closer to your goals.

    You can do it!

  3. what you have gained is the knowledge that there are some foods it may be
better for you not to be around. How about a card for that twenty thereby
skipping further temptation. You also gained the knowledge that discarding
food that is potentially harmful to you will not cause the world to end.
This is a big one to me as I still work on it. and you do need to cut
yourself some slack, you have been on a program less than two weeks, and how
many years have you had to have bad habits, this is about changing for a
better life. Just learn from what happens and move on as you have a
lifetime to make it better. Remember it is about progress, NOT perfection,
    good luck this week, Lee

  5. I started WW in April. It took me several weeks of going to meetings and reading the material to get
the hang of counting points. Now I can almost do it in my sleep. These changes come gradually. Give
yourself at least a month to get consistant with staying OP. And don't be so hard on yourself. Make
the commitment to lose the weight and get back into the groove.

  6. Wow, you did great in throwing the rest away ;-D Each time you do something like that it makes it
easier to do it the next time and eventually, you just don't eat them (or only a wee bit). Just keep

  7. Stopping at 6 cordial cherries is better than eating the whole box. Congratulations on being able to
STOP and throw away the rest! Good luck at weigh in.

So you ate your newphew's present? LOL

Seriously, it is a big step that you threw the rest away and didn't eat all of them. So
    congrats for that!

The whole WW thing is a process where you are learning new ways to eat. You gotta eat. Stopping
smoking was tough but nobody has to smoke. You gotta eat! You have to figure out how to avoid those
    same old food traps.

  9. It is hard in the beginning. You are scared to eat, don't know what to eat, and you feel deprived.
We know...we've ALL been there. But, it WILL get easier. Especially as you learn what things to buy.
In the beginning (and still) I rely on certain foods.

Boca Burgers Boca Chicken WW Hot Pockets Lean Cuisine Pizzas Salmon Burgers Kudos M&M Bars Apples
Dannon Light N Fit Yogurt Fat Free Jello Pudding Sugar Free Jello Baked Tostitos and Salsa
Giovanni's Lite Italian Bread I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Egg Whites Peppers Mushrooms
CHICKEN!!!! 2% Cheese Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches

I tend to not cook during the week a lot (hence the large number of frozen foods), but they all
work...because I live on them and lost 59 pounds so far. So HANG IN THERE! And don't be afraid to
calculate points right in the store as you shop. You will get to know how to get the most food for
    the points!

  10. *mmm* choccie cherrys.... *mopping up the drool off the keyboard*

    Oh dear!

Amber, I have been right where you have been too. Look at the lesson that you just learned though...
You have discovered one of your weakness/triggers! Not only that, but you stopped BEFORE the whole
box was gone AND you got rid of the temptation. Sounds pretty bloomin' fabulous if you ask me. 🙂

Pat yourself on the back and like someone else suggested, get the boy-o a card and slip him a
    twenty. 🙂

    Have a wonderful eve, Holly

  13. Thanks for the new ideas. When I first joined I put a point label on all the food I have in my
house, so that made it really easy. When I go to the grocery store I know what to stay away from and
what to buy. I also rely on WW mag. adds for ideas.

bad. It took me a long time to get back my motivation but now, it am fully determined to live a
