Disc Brakes

They not only look cool, but are great in wet conditions,
better modulation, and more power. You don't wear out
rims either.

There's nothing wrong with rim brakes though.

The 'Zoke is a much better fork. Hell, any RS is a
better fork.

If you don't know the difference already, you're not going
to rode at a level to where you'd appreciate the differences
in disc brakes. I still prefer v-brakes for the MD area...I
wouldn't say discs are always flat-out better. Basically, if
you're going to be doing long, sustained braking (mile-long
downhills) or ride in total slop (bad for trails) discs are
for you. If not, set-up your v-brakes right and you'll have
no problems. Get Avid Rim-Wrangle 2 pads.

I'm guessing the OP means he can't find that fork on the
Marzocchi site. I think the MZ is an OEM only fork, ie not
available to buy as an aftermarket upgrade and is therefore
not listed. It is a 100mm coil fork.

It is safe to assume that it will be better than any RST.

i got disk brakes cause i got a new job and had money to
spare. i think they have been worth it. ifs fairly flat here
but when i have been away they have been better on long
descents. but mainly, the mud clearence is excellent, and my
rims aint gonna wear out.

Not listed? You need to look a little harder. The

Not listed? You need to look a little harder. The
Marzocchi site has a whole page dedicated to OEM forks
like the MZ Comp.

Because these days a cheap set of disk brakes is the same
price as a good set of v-brakes, the the discs are better.
The Marzocchi is better than the RST but it's not a
"Bomber". All forks at that price point are pretty much just
pogo sticks.

It's about the same in design as something like an old Judy
C, no open oil bath like on the Bombers but it'll do for
what Hardrock buyers need it for.
