My first guess would be a civil suit for breach of contract. I am sure that
they had a doping clause in his contract but the specific language would
been needed to see what the remedy would be if Frankie violated the clause.
There would also probably have to be language stating the remedies would
survive the contract's expiration. Normal remedies are returning of
earnings including salary and bonuses or anything else that Tradewind
included.

The real purpose is to stop any other riders from talking.

That's what I thought, too. Not being a lawyer, I was hoping for the
legal contingent to comment.

I also thought the statute of limitations may have applied to the
Strock/Kaiter case (another thread).

Statute of limitations are usually higher in contract law than tort. It varies from state to state, but 10 years is not uncommon.

It is probably more show for PR sake. I doubt they want a bunch of

Technically, they are the same team owned by the same Company
(Tailwind). They only have a different name. So it would matter.

have a jury packed with twelve joe/jane sixpacks, do you really think
they would vote against an American hero, a cancer survivor in favor of
a large corporation?

In a good contact the remedies are outlined as are the survivorship of each
section. I expect that there was a section on doping and it probably stated
that to be a member of Tailwind Sports the rider agrees not to dope. I
expect that the remedies are something simple like if the rider violates the
policy they will return all salary and bonuses.

To say no harm, no foul is really short sighted. Look at the harm that the
doping problems did to the Phonak team. It was so bad that IShares dropped
out of their title sponsorship and the team folded.
