  1. Are there any differences between the live coverage in the morning and the "expanded" prime time coverage on OLN or do they just reply the same show?

  2. I think the primetime coverage is typically shorter. There are differences.

  3. I've been trying to figure this out too. I've been tivo'ing them both and watching both then picking one to record to DVD. It seems that the main differences are:

    1) The pre race shows are exactly the same. Except where stage one did not have a pre-race for the live coverage.

    2) Live coverage has Phil and Paul exclusively for race comentary while prime time has a mix of Bob/Al and Phil/Paul.

    3) The prime time coverage has some local/regional historical/sociological coverage by Kirsten Gum - who cares.

    4) Some times the prime time has interviews with the riders etc. where the live coverage does not, but not always. These interviews are most always re-played during the pre-race of the next stage though.

    5) I think for the Kirsten Gum and interview differences the prime time then cuts out some of the actual cycling coverage.

Also when we get to the mountains the live coverage for some of the stages will go to a full 5 hours coverage, where the prime time will remain at 3 hours. Here you are obviously losing a lot of cycling coverage for the prime time.

    Have fun.

lol, get your head out of the gutter. 😄

  6. It's really exciting that come the mountain stages they'll be expanding the race coverage to cover the entire race.

Gotta love Paul and Phil, they aren't all over Lance like the other two guys. I'm a Discovery fan but hearing about all of the other racers is nice.

The best part about the coverage for the mountain stages is the last 30 minute commercial free part... If I remember correctly, OLN did this last year.

  8. The Primetime Show usually has more interviews and special guests. Sometimes they have interviews with Lance after the Stage, or Carmichael, or Sheryl Crow, etc. Seems like the Primetime's more of a compilation of the stage, since by then, OLN has time to add in extras and analysis.
