  1. It's a good thing I didn't use up flex points this week
because today caught me off guard.

We decided to treat ourselves to Ihop and worry about the
points when we got home. I had a standard breakfast of eggs,
hashbrowns, sausage, and a pancake with strawberry topping.
Got home and figured out the points, it was around 20, so I
figured I'd have very little for the rest of the day (I'm a
28 pointer). Then we went out to fly a kite for a while and
we counted that as 20 minutes of brisk walking and got 2
    points back.

Then we got an impromtpu poker game together. Oy Vey!
Several big guys invited so of course we got pizza. Now I
ordered one veggie pizza but I hate the thin crust so I
decided to splurge a little bit and just get a regular
veggie pizza. Had 1.5 slices of that, some coke, a few
wings, and evil of all evilness, Doritos! By the time all
was said and done today, I had eaten 55 points!! I have 1.5
flex points left for the week. Fortunately, the week resets
on Monday so it won't be that rough.

I'll tell ya though, I paid for all that grease. Had to sit
out a hand of the game while it, ahem, exited my system (to
    put it delicately).

I was doing pretty fantastic all week, my body felt cleaner
somehow. So now I have no idea of how this day is going to
affect me. I'm feeling like my old bloated blob again. I
know I'll start back on the program tomorrow and what I ate
today can't be uneatened and technically I'm still within
my flex points. I'm just wondering how such blips have
    affected others.

it shows how far you have come in changing your lifestyle
that one day of eating unhealthily has that effect on
    your system.

at a meeting a long time ago we were talking about our
biggest blowout days. one guy there (who had lost about 30
kg/66 lbs and had the same amount left to go) told us his
biggest day was when he got to 105 points. and then he
*stopped counting*. scary! but i can see how it can be done.

we all have days where we have a blowout from something
unexpected or something we calculated wrongly. it's just
what you do from then on that will make or break you. you
need to see that overall that one day out of many is not
going to make a difference when tomorrow you make a
commitment to get back on track.

here's to you getting back on track (raises her point free
    glass of water)!

  3. I have also had days which have been double my points
allowance. Opps! If it is just one day and I get on track
and am good for therest of the week, I usually end up with
quite a good loss ( I guess it is like a refeed day) The
main thing is not to use it as an excuse to ruin the whole
week. New day and back o ntrack. Hope things go well.

  4. I've seen a number fluctuation anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds
the next day on the scale. That usually goes away in a day
or three days depending on what the sodium damage was.

  5. A day like you had may affect your scale weight for the
next couple of days, if only because everything you ate is
probably high in sodium, causing fluid retention. But if
you get back on program and can stay there, there
shouldn't be a long term effect. I've had days similar to
yours and, depending on how close my WI day was to the
"blowout" day, I've had the range of small gains to nice
    losses. You'll be fine.

  6. I think all of us have had an unexpected blow-out day.
Just increase your water intake and exercise while
decreasing your food until WI to help compensate for last
night. Hopefully you can turn a gain into a maintain or a
    small loss.

  7. I so know what you mean about the cleaner bit. After a weekend - my time
for indulgences - I always feel kinda polluted. By Friday, I'm feeling all
clean and sorted again......ready to start all over again! *grin* I reckon
you have to treat blips as just that - a blip. Not an excuse to blow it for
the entire week before you start over. Just one of those things, after
which you get back on program, and off you go again 🙂
