Does/has anyone out there cycle/d from Didcot Parkway Station to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories? The directions for driving assume I want to use the A34 which I most certainly don't! The directions for arriving by train assume I want to get a taxi. I can probably pick out a reasonable route using quieter roads but I wondered if there were any non-road short cuts or any cycleable side entrances to the site. I'll be on the Brompton so I don't want to be too "off-road".

Hi Colin,
There is a Harwell bike users group who have a pretty useful web page. Try here:
R out of station main entrance (Station Road) for 1/4mi L at roundabout up Foxhall Road R at roundabout (by Shell Garage) (?SP Harwell) Follow road out of Didcot to Harwell Through Harwell Village and up to A*** R to Rowstock SP Wantage L at Rowstock Roundabout (Nissan Garage) 1-2mi up hill to RAL R into RAL
That's the Yellow and Red routes on the map.
