Sounds like a compliment or a friendly jibe to me based on the information you gave. Since you were "pulling"-or at least out front- it doesn't sound like you are one of those people who gets dressed up in a professional kit and rides a $5000 bike at 10 mph/16kph. Unless you were really struggling...but still.

As far as how it goes, if you wear a pro kit, you're tagged... either you're really good or just a poser... 🙂

True. From my experience, most cases are the latter, but that's not to put down the really good guys out there who deck it out....

No team kit for me - just a patriotic jersey from Primal. Thanks for the reasurance - I thought either he was encouraging me, or talking trash.

No $5K bike at 10 mph either - more like a $700 bike at 21 mph! (I'll get faster tho - I swear!)

Hmm, I can not figure out this "if you have team stuff you are a poser, but only if you are on an expensive bike or unfit" What is whith this? Is it not the attitude of the wearer that makes them a poser or not? Not the money or fitnesslevel for sure?
I mean, someone on national racing level riding a full us postal kit, looks the same to me as someone not fit. Neither of them are in the us postal team. Their eventual poseurness I would judge on their attitude. Is it just me that sees it this way? Why this need to bash other people?

No bashing here. Its just that its the mindset of, I guess, the cycling community, especially weekend warriors, if you wear pro team kit, you'll be tagged as a poser...
